Safety National Breaks Ground on Headquarters Expansion

Safety National Casualty Corporation has officially broken ground on its new 145,000 square foot, $32 million expansion to their corporate headquarters at 1832 Schuetz Road in Maryland Heights, MO.

The additional office space will house the organization’s learning and operations functions which will include new offices, workstations, and meeting space in addition to a professional development center.

“The new building addresses our recent growth over the past decade and prepares us for projected future organizational development,” said Duane Hercules, President of Safety National.  “We planned for this expansion as Phase II of our 2004 master plan and, with nearly triple the employee base since then, we finally have the need to proceed with this phase of the project.”

Members of Safety National’s executive management team led the groundbreaking ceremony, joined by employees and expansion project partners Gershman Commercial Real Estate, ACI Boland Architects, and PARIC Corp.

“Safety National has been a longtime client of ours and we’re excited to have the opportunity to continue our role as development manager for Phase II of this development,” said Bruce Brophy, Chief Operating Officer of Gershman Commercial Real Estate.

St. Louis based PARIC Corporation was selected as the general contractor and a new addition to the partnership. “We are excited about this partnership and look forward to building this new relationship,” said Keith Wolkoff, president of the privately held construction company.
