At the height of a career built on hard work and delivering on people’s trust, Ami Kutz is proof that when business feels like family, everyone wins.
Q: What is your greatest professional accomplishment? Greatest challenge?
A: My greatest professional accomplishment was taking over the running of Sachs Properties after the unexpected death of Mr. Sachs. This was also my greatest challenge. I did not want to let the Sachs family down when they showed such great faith in my abilities.
Q: What is one of the best professional decisions you’ve ever made?
A: Deciding early on that the direction I was heading in (trust and financial planning) wasn’t for me! Taking a risk, changing direction and taking an entry level accounting job at a real estate company. This helped me to learn the business from the ground up.
Q: What was your dream job as a kid and why?
A: As a kid, I always thought I would follow in my father’s footsteps. He owned a local pharmacy. My whole family and most of my friends worked there. The customers I dealt with taught me a lot that I still use today. They are always right!
It is also probably why I have spent almost my entire career working for a “family business.” It is what I have always known!
