The Transformation of Colonnade Center

Gershman Commercial Real Estate recently completed an extensive renovation of the Colonnade Center in Des Peres.  The scope of improvements included all new storefronts, roof, building façade, monument signage and parking lot, along with the development of an outparcel for Chase Bank.

The redesign was centered around the modernization of the existing colonial architecture.  Clean lines, coupled with a black/white color scheme, create a simple and contemporary aesthetic to appeal to a broad base of both retailers and consumers.

The Gershman family’s history with Colonnade Center dates back to its original development in 1969 by the late Solon Gershman.  Efforts to redevelop the site entirely were contemplated but did not materialize due to market conditions, a rapidly evolving retail industry, and a number of site constraints.  Therefore, Colonnade Center was slated for this significant renovation in order to reposition the shopping center in order to attract a high caliber of retail and restaurant users.

A special THANK YOU to Central Bank for financing the improvements, along with Idea Architects LLC, George Stock & Associates, and ICON Contracting.
